Following the 102nd running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb bought to you by Gran Turismo in hotter-than-expected conditions, competitors and race officials met on Monday morning to receive awards following the event.
The six-division race includes various other awards beyond division winners to promote the event and help celebrate sponsors.
One award, the Alcon “No Holding back Award” was presented to a driver who has demonstrated outstanding perseverance and determination in their race to the 14,115-foot summit. This year’s winner was Mary Barker-Samuel, who recently beat cancer in preparation for the event and married Kendall Samuel at the summit of the mountain following their rookie runs at the hill.
