Petersen Museum Cruise-In to Recognize Matchbox Anniversary

The Petersen Automotive Museum will honor the 70th anniversary of the Mattel brand, Matchbox, with a 70 Years of Matchbox Cruise-In, the museum announced.

Scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 29 at 8 a.m. PST, the free cruise-in at the museum is open to all vehicle owners and spectators. The event will also feature a panel with Matchbox designers Bryan Benedict and Julian Payne, as well as a special feature from street artist Mr. Brainwash, the museum said.

Additionally, cruise-in attendees can park their vehicles in front of a life-sized Matchbox packaging backdrop for a photo opportunity, museum officials said.

The museum will also be organizing a rally to Santa Paula that will occur after the cruise-in, including lunch and the chance to explore a car collection, the museum said.
