The Petersen Automotive Museum invites guests to experience a selection of iconic cars from the ’80s and ’90s at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, from 9–4 p.m. at Monterey Car Week.
This is a chance to see vehicles from this unforgettable era that are not currently on display in the museum’s recently opened blockbuster exhibit, “Totally Awesome!” museum officials stated in a press release.
The following vehicles will be on display near the main entrance to The Quail, showcasing the bold and eclectic automotive innovation of this unforgettable era:
- Jaguar XJ220
- BMW E30 M3 Evo
- Alfa SZ
- Bugatti EB110
- Nissan Skyline GTR 400 R
- Ferrari 308, used in “Magnum P.I.”
“Totally Awesome!” Exhibit
The “Totally Awesome! Cars and Culture of the ‘80s and ‘90s” exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum celebrates this radical era of vehicles and styles, showcasing a diverse collection of concept cars, production models and iconic vehicles from pop culture, noted the release. The display also features interactive elements, including retro video games and technology, and will be open in the Mullin Grand Salon through April 2026.
