The award was presented during Speed Week prior to the 2019 Daytona 500. Permatex also participated in the 2019 Daytona 500 as a corporate sponsor of StarCom Racing and driver, Landon Cassill.
The Allison Family Corporate Award honors the memory of Bobby Allison’s late sons, Clifford and Davey. In 1973, Bobby Allison famously ran his 1968 Chevelle Late Model Sportsman for 300 miles at Talladega Motor Speedway without the use of a gasket or lock washers, relying solely on Permatex Lock-Nut to hold the vehicle’s engine together, according to the company.
Living Legends of Auto Racing Inc. was founded in 1993 in an effort to recognize, honor, and promote the pioneers of beach racing and stock car racing. Today, the organization has almost 500 members from around the world and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The all-volunteer Daytona Beach, Florida-based organization hosts a variety of activities throughout the year.
