Permatex Earns Best New Product Award at 2021 AAPEX Show

Permatex, a provider of chemical technology for automotive maintenance and repair, took home a 2021 New Product Showcase Award at this year’s Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, the company announced. Permatex received the award for its 500-Degree High Heat Epoxy.

Permatex 500-Degree High Heat epoxy took home the top award in the Chemicals, Lubricants and Filters category.

“This award is a tremendous honor, as countless research hours went into understanding our consumers’ pain points and introducing a differentiated, one-of-a-kind product to what was previously offered in the market,” said Permatex Marketing, Manager, Ashley Khan, who accepted the award for Permatex. “Winning the New Product Showcase award is very special because the products are voted on by aftermarket buyers and their voices add extra creditability to our innovations. We are very proud of our whole team and their hard work and dedication.”

Permatex 500° High Heat Epoxy bonds and seals against liquids, gases and common automotive fluids and can withstand temperatures up to 500 °F (250 °C).

“Developing this specialized epoxy required the use of unconventional materials and processes to produce a formulation that was not feasible with traditional stick and putty epoxies,” said Permatex R&D Director, Antoine Phillips. “Our solution was the use of a multi-functional chemistry to deliver a dense, high strength, highly crosslinked temperature resistant adhesive that could perform effectively at extremely high temperatures.”
