A new report from The Drive noted that Horatio Pagani, founder of the Pagani brand, has stated that the manufacturer will continue to produce V12 models for the coming years because they do not see the customer interest in hybrid technology. This comes after a slew of recent announcements as larger automakers reel back on electrification expectations over the coming years.
The Italian brand’s founder pointed to the fact that Pagani is a small-scale manufacturer, typically producing less than 100 examples of their cars each year. This means for the brand to develop a hybrid or electric designs, they would have to invest huge capital to keep up with software and ever-changing electric standards.
The brand currently produces the recently released Utopia featuring a twin-turbo V12 engine, offered in both a coupe and targa design, and the Huyrai Imola Roadster, which has been limited to just 8 cars worldwide.
