The inaugural O’Reilly Auto Parts Grand National Truck Show will celebrate trucks, vans and SUVs of every make, model and style at the Fairplex in Pomona, California, next month, organizers announced.
Scheduled for Sept. 16-17, the truck-only event will be hosted by Rod Shows, known for producing a full slate of hot rod shows, including the Grand National Roadster Show.
The Grand National Truck Show will be open to all types and styles of trucks, vans and SUVs from 1900 to today, regardless of year, make or model, organizers said. Awards will be given in over 35 judged classes, including best display, paint, interior, engine, detailing and more.
Eighteen custom trucks will compete for the weekend’s biggest award, the inaugural World’s Most Beautiful Truck award presented by ARP Fasteners. This year’s entries include early Fords to late-model Chevys and more. The winner of the prize will receive $12,500 and a custom trophy.
“Each year we’ve seen the growing popularity of trucks, SUVs and vans among collectors, builders and customizers, so we wanted to create a show to celebrate these hard-working showpieces,” said John Buck, owner of Rod Shows. “The response to the Grand National Truck Show has been outstanding so far and we can’t wait to see everyone in Pomona.”
The weekend will also feature the Grand National Truck-In. This two-day outdoor portion of the show is open to all years and styles of trucks, SUVs and vans.
Additional entertainment includes the Grand National Truck Show Cornhole Tournament and a Pinstriper Charity Auction featuring custom art to be auctioned off for charity. For a minimal donation, attendees can also bring a cell phone, laptop or other item to get pinstriped, organizers said. All proceeds benefit the Volunteers for Veterans Foundation.
