OPTIMA Batteries, a brand of CLARIOS, geared up for the upcoming Baja 1000 race by bringing a taste of the races to its Yuma plant in Arizona before continuing on to the Ford Raptor Rally event in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
The Clarios manufacturing plant in Yuma is one of several plants that contribute to the testing and manufacturing of over 150 million batteries. Plant employees work to build batteries which can be found in one out of every three cars on the road today, including the OPTIMA Batteries used by racers such as professional Trophy Truck driver, Christopher Polvoorde, company officials stated in a press release.
The Ford Raptor Rally Event
Following the event at the Yuma facility, Clarios employees who owned Ford Raptor vehicles joined Polvoorde and his race team on a scenic off-road drive to Lake Havasu City to participate in the Ford Raptor Rally event.
Hundreds of Ford Raptor owners convened at the Ford Raptor Rally to celebrate the popular off-road truck with a variety of activities, noted the release. Those in attendance included Ford- and OPTIMA Batteries-sponsored drivers, including Polvoorde, Loren Healy, Vaughn Gittin Jr, and Bailey Campbell.
The OPTIMA Batteries and Clarios teams say they are now counting down to the biggest off-road racing event of the year—the Baja 1000, where several team drivers are aiming to win the grueling 1000-mile desert race. The race takes place Nov. 10-16.
