OPTIMA Batteries announced at the PRI show that it is participating and supporting the Save Grassroots Racing campaign. Organized by the United States Motorsports Association (USMA), this campaign will mobilize millions of racers and fans across the country to work with local, state and federal government representatives to avoid regulation and legislation harmful to the racing industry, according to campaign officials.
OPTIMA Batteries has long been an active leader in grassroots racing, according to the company. Beyond developing products, OPTIMA has made in-depth contributions to motorsports, such as creating an entirely new category of racing with their Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge.
“Grassroots Racing is where OPTIMA has placed our product’s technology, resources and focus,” said Cam Douglass director of marketing at OPTIMA Batteries. “We support the effort of this campaign to get all forms of racing unified. Greater organization and a clear message that highlights the many benefits of our industry is something that is long overdue in grassroots motorsports.”
Grassroots racing makes up the largest sector of motorsports, contributing to billions of dollars in economic impacts, millions of jobs, feeding thousands of small businesses and providing tremendous local community benefits, according to the Save Grassroots Racing campaign.
