Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels will partner with GenRite Off Road and Vision X to sponsor this year’s King of the Hammers KOH Experience Feb. 9 in Johnson Valley, California.
Participants in the KOH Experience, led by Tony Pellegrino from GenRight Off Road, will have the chance to take off-road-ready vehicles on the legendary KOH race course.
The Experience will follow the same path the Unlimited Class race cars will tackle the day before during the official King of the Hammers race, according to a press release.
“Drivers will traverse obstacles and rough terrain, putting their off-road vehicles to the ultimate test in some of the most remote areas of the Johnson Valley off-highway vehicle area,” the release noted. “Because of the course’s extreme terrain, no stock vehicles are allowed to participate in the KOH Experience. Officials recommend 35-inch tires and lockers, and drivers should be ready to test the limits of their vehicle.”
The KOH Experience run will take place rain or shine, according to Mickey Thompson, and participants should check in at the Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels trailer between 8-9:30 a.m. on Feb. 9. The run will depart at 10:30 a.m., and officials expect participants to be back in Hammertown by 4 p.m.
