Mickey Thompson Returns as NMRA, NMCA Sponsor

Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels is returning as a sponsor of the National Mustang Racers Association (NMRA) and National Muscle Car Association (NMCA), the company announced. Mickey Thompson is also the X275 class sponsor in both series, as well as the Grudge Test and Tune Sponsor in the NMRA.

The Mickey Thompson Tires Grudge Test and Tune is designed for those looking to run at certain NMRA events but don’t necessarily fit into one of the heads-up or index categories, the organization said. Vehicles must be a Ford Motor Company body and powered by a Ford-based powerplant.

The first Grudge Test and Tune event is at the Spring Break Shootout, March 4-6 at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida. The category makes its second appearance during the Ford Performance Nationals on June 9-12 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. The NMRA World Finals Sept. 29-Oct. 2 at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is the final host of the Grudge Test and Tune.

“We are happy to bring Grudge Test and Tune back in 2022 due to the increased demand from our customers. This a fun way to get involved as there is no pressure to race against anyone if you don’t want to, or you can line-up a bunch of grudge races against your buddies or rivals,” said Rollie Miller, national event director and general manager of the NMRA Ford Nationals. “Our goal is to get as many enthusiasts involved in NMRA as possible and this is one more opportunity to do so.”

The NMRA Ford Nationals and NMCA Muscle Car Nationals host race weekends at tracks across the country, offering various classes and categories of drag racing, plus show-n-shine competitions, midway and swap meets and other attractions for drivers and fans, the organization said.
