The cross-dock will have a direct, next-day feed from Meyer’s Jasper, Indiana facility, the company said.
“The South Carolina coast will see nice improvements in delivery service times and consistency,” said Cody Ziegler, director of sales for Meyer. “We’ve always had to service these regions on overnight runs with some customers getting second day service. Next day service to this region will give us parity with the competition and provide more reliable service to customers in the region.”
“The Carolinas are special for Meyer because it the was the first major expansion outside of home turf in Indiana nearly 20 years ago,” said Jeff Braun, CEO of Meyer. “The whole region has gone through various iterations of growth over the last two decades, and we’re excited about the next phase with our Columbia dock. Customers from Florence to Sumter to Orangeburg to Charleston to Myrtle Beach and back will see improved frequency, delivery times, and most importantly, consistency.”
