Blending the spirit of motorsports with the foundations of growth and learning, Mavix Community Outreach is a nonprofit collaboration looking to introduce foster children and troubled teens “to the transformative power of community, passion and opportunity.”
The effort looks to offer scholarships or entry into trade schools within the motorsports industry to young individuals passionate about motorsports but lacking chances to get involved, says Kelly Anderson, Mavix Community Outreach founder.
“We see potential where others see challenge and we invest in that potential to gear up our youth for the race of life,” she says. “Mavix Community Outreach recognized the rich learning environment that motorsports provided—a unique blend of technology, teamwork and tenacity.”
The group’s mission is “to accelerate the potential within every child and teen that steps through our doors by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities to succeed in motorsports and beyond.”
The group enjoyed a successful first event of the season in March at Irwindale Dragstrip. More information is available at mavixcommunity.org.
