The LEER Group has opened a new commercial aluminum truck cap manufacturing facility in Elkhart, Indiana, the company announced.
The company held a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the facility on April 5, the company said. The facility was previously used as a warehouse for LEER Group products and was converted into a production facility, company representatives said.
“The facility will provide increased production capacity needed to accommodate significant growth, specifically in the Commercial and Fleet segments of our business,” said Curt Cline, vice president of operations at J.B. Poindexter & Co., LEER Group’s parent company. “This facility opening couldn’t have come at a more opportune time – when lead times are extreme, it gives us the capacity to reduce delivery times to better meet the needs of our customers in today’s important Commercial segment.
“LEER Group’s Engineering and Advanced manufacturing teams have designed and outfitted this facility with over $1.5M of the latest equipment and technology that allows us to manufacture the best quality Commercial Aluminum Caps in the industry.”
