Keystone Automotive Operations Inc. has welcomed Drake Wheel to its wheel and tire category. Drake Wheel is a division of Drake Automotive Group.
Drake Automotive Group-formerly Scott Drake Enterprises-has been a respected name among enthusiasts and industry professionals since 1988, according to the company. Earning its stripes in the classic Mustang market, the brand now supplies parts to both OEMs and the aftermarket for a variety of markets and applications.
Since partnering with private equity firm Huron Capital in 2015, Drake Automotive has acquired several major aftermarket brands, expanding its product offerings to include parts for late-model Mustangs and other popular muscle cars, as well as building an entire division specifically dedicated to truck and off-road.
Drake Automotive has also introduced several new in-house designs, including its first forged aluminum one-piece wheel for modern Mustangs, as well as a unique off-road model for Jeep JK/JL Wranglers.
Expanding Wheel Offerings
Drake Automotive brokered an exclusive deal with Carroll Shelby Licensing in 2017 to re-launch the Carroll Shelby Wheel brand name. Under this license, the company designs, manufactures, and sells performance wheels engineered for modern Mustangs. Drake Automotive also acquired California-based manufacturer REV Wheels and its sister company DV8 Off-Road in 2018, further expanding its portfolio.
Keystone Distribution Deal
The new business opportunities afforded through a partnership with Keystone will allow Drake Automotive’s family of brands to experience greater success within the aftermarket, reaching more customers with its desirable and reliable product offerings, according to the company.
“This relationship really gives us the ability to cater to classic and modern muscle car enthusiasts,” said Dan Guyer, Keystone Automotive category manager. “Partnering with a company like Scott Drake allows us to include very high-quality wheels that are in high demand, and do so at a price point that customers will appreciate.”
