How NASCAR Built a Racetrack on a Football Field

The NASCAR Cup Series will take center stage at an unusual venue this weekend for the 2022 Busch Clash.

This year’s edition of the Clash will take place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum—typically the home of a college football team and a professional rugby squad—on a temporary asphalt racing surface built specifically for the event.

The transformation required significant efforts from both NASCAR and the Coliseum grounds crew, which the series recently documented ahead of the race.
