Vintage Land Rover restorer Himalaya 4×4 has partnered with Vintage Electric to introduce a limited-edition line of throttle e-bikes inspired by Land Rover’s Series trucks.
Based on Himalaya’s custom Land Rover restorations, the new Himalaya 4×4 Special Edition Vintage Electric bikes are now available to order as accessories for each commission. The bikes have dual sport features alongside matching paint and other touches that sync with each Himalaya 4×4 design, the restoration shop said.
“When Himalaya 4×4 initially explored a Vintage Electric partnership, our first thought was creating a special line of bikes based on the Series Rovers,” said Himalaya 4×4 CEO Greg Shondel. “The Series trucks are celebrated as the original Land Rovers that started it all for the brand, and the rigs feature a markedly different design than the Defenders that came later. Each Series truck features a classic design that runs in beautiful parallel with what Vintage Electric captures in their own bike designs. Now, when our clients commission a Series build, they can add in a special edition e-bike from Vintage Electric that can be racked and accessible in the back of our trucks.”
The special edition Himalaya 4×4 Special Edition Vintage Electric bike features a 72-volt electric power plant and a 40-mph top speed, the eBike builder said.
“At Vintage Electric, it’s no secret that we draw a lot of inspiration from classic automotive designs that are precious to us,” said Vintage Electric Founder Andrew Davidge. “The Series trucks from Land Rover really encapsulates an era of transportation that we pull so much inspiration from. Himalaya 4×4 is about helping their clients go wherever their journey takes them, and now, Vintage Electric can be part of those adventures by providing a powerful electric bike for tackling dirt roads and beaches to keep the adventure going.”
The Himalaya 4×4 Special Edition Vintage Electric throttle bike features a hydroformed aluminum frame custom painted to match each Series truck’s exterior. Other custom touches include a dual density saddle and grips wrapped in the same interior material as each Himalaya 4×4 Series build. Each custom Himalaya 4×4 Special Edition Vintage Electric bike also features exclusive Himalaya Series badging as well as a Saris 2 bike rack to store and transport the two-wheel accessory.
Himalaya 4×4’s first Series build incorporating the custom Vintage Electric bike is a Series IIA that features a 300-horsepower GM V6 engine paired alongside a 6L80-E transmission. The powder blue custom truck rests on a coil-sprung chassis and features a bespoke modern Fox suspension.
This Himalaya 4×4 Series IIA features a custom roof and roof rack, and is outfitted in durable, high grade chestnut leather. Himalaya 4×4 also integrated an Alpine sound system with Bluetooth connectivity.
