Heidts Hot Rod and Muscle Car Parts has acquired West Branch, Iowa-based Chassis Engineering Inc. The two companies will continue to operate under their established brands, but Chassis Engineering Inc. will move sales, technical and manufacturing operations to the Heidts facility in Lake Zurich, Illinois.
All products offered by Chassis Engineering Inc. will continue to be produced by many of the same employees currently with the firm, according to Heidts.
“We are very excited to announce that Chassis Engineering Inc. (CEI) is joining our family of companies which includes Heidts Hot Rod & Muscle Car Parts, Alston Racing, and American Performance Shocks. CEI is a great fit for us and brings decades of experience serving the street and hot rod markets with their quality high performance parts,” said Wallace Leyshon, president and CEO of Heidts.
“CEI’s Iowa operations will be folded into our Lake Zurich, Illinois facility and we will retain many of their staff and continue to supply the needs of current CEI customers,” Leyshon added. “The combined companies will provide the market with the most comprehensive product line of suspension kits and components available in the automotive aftermarket.”
Another company, also named Chassis Engineering but located in Riviera Beach, Florida, is an independent firm offering drag racing parts and accessories, and was not involved in this transaction with Heidts.
