Preparations are well under way for THE NBM SHOW/Long Beach and WRAPSCON 2018, which are coming up Aug. 2-4 in Long Beach, California.
WRAPSCON is the annual event put on by wrappers, for wrappers, and this year show organizers welcome the return of the WRAPSCON Wrap Olympics.
Registration is open for the Wrap Olympics, a competition pitting two-person teams facing multiple wrap challenges over multiple days that will test their knowledge and skill to the limits. Each stage of the competition will pose a unique hurdle, whether it be the object to be wrapped in that stage or the various types of vinyl required to be used.
Tools and materials will be provided; however, participants are encouraged to bring and use their own kits for familiarity’s sake.
An esteemed panel of judges is joining us again this year, and they include Starla Miller of Miller Decals; Jen Carney of Carbon Wraps; Keith Vu of Savage Wraps; Luis Tirado of WBC Graphics; and Adam Sumner of Wrapix. Kevin Kempf of PG Nola will emcee the contest. And, because entering a contest like this takes courage, every competitor walks away with a WRAPSCON T-shirt, a Wrap Olympics medal, and swag bags filled with goodies from event sponsors.
Last year’s winners of the Wrap Olympics were The Hungarian Outlaws: Istvan Hargittai and Kiss Lajos.
This is WRAPSCON’s fourth year and the second year it’s being held in Long Beach at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.
