Gunther Werks has announced the Brundle Edition Turbo, an exclusive collaboration with international motorsport legend and 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Martin Brundle and his daughter, acclaimed automotive designer Charlie Brundle. Limited to five examples, the Turbo combines Martin’s decades of Grand Prix and endurance racing experience with Charlie’s distinctive design vision, company officials stated in a press release.
Drawing upon her experience at McLaren Automotive, Aston Martin and Jaguar Land Rover, Charlie has crafted a striking tribute to her father’s racing legacy, the release noted. Featuring an exclusive two-tone pearl livery, meticulously painted by hand and inspired by Martin’s iconic crash helmet, the design incorporates subtle personal references and hidden Easter eggs throughout the exterior and interior, celebrating Martin’s storied career in international motorsport.
“I’ve spent my entire life driving the most advanced machinery in the world. For me, one of the most unique aspects of a Gunther Werks vehicle is that, despite having extreme race car performance, it is remarkably civilized and usable too,” said Martin. “To collaborate with Gunther Werks and to have my daughter lead the design means this project is deeply personal. We’ve poured our collective experience from the driver’s seat, the paddock and the design studios into this car.”
“Designing a car that celebrates my father’s racing career has been an incredibly personal experience,” said Charlie. “Growing up surrounded by motorsport, I’ve always admired his passion and dedication. To translate that legacy into a design that reflects both his achievements and our relationship as father and daughter is something truly special. It’s a rare opportunity to bring our two worlds together in a way that feels authentic to us both.”
Air-Cooled Flat-Six Performance & Chassis Upgrades
Built upon the Gunther Werks Turbo platform, the Brundle Edition is powered by an air-cooled 4.0-liter flat-six producing 860 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque, featuring precision engine calibration optimized for high-octane gasoline. Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, bespoke double-wishbone suspension and track-focused chassis development, the car delivers a visceral analog driving experience, with dedicated Sport and Track calibrations refined alongside Martin for exceptional precision, responsiveness and driver engagement, the company said.
Further enhancing its dynamic capabilities are an adjustable high-downforce rear wing, front aerodynamic canards and an upgraded Brembo CCMR braking system with forged billet calipers.
Custom Interior & Exterior Design Details
The dash features a signature quote, “The most important bit of the car is the nut holding the steering wheel,” alongside Martin’s helmet insignia, hand-signed dashboard end plates and Charlie’s personalized MB monogram embossed into the headrests. The exterior livery flows into the cabin through the seat upholstery, while a unique seat bolster label serves as a nod to the colors of the Grand Prix machines Martin drove throughout his career.
Exterior distinctions include smoked front LED indicators and a smoked rear taillight package, one-off forged magnesium wheels with motorsport pedigree, etched with Brundle branding, signature rear decklid lettering and exclusive Brundle Edition door sills. A one-off key design completes the meticulously crafted tribute. Accompanying each vehicle is a Bell HP77 Formula 1-homologated helmet, finished in a matching livery and personally signed by Martin.
“The Brundle Edition brings together Martin’s racing legacy and Charlie’s exceptional design talent,” said Peter Nam, CEO and founder of Gunther Werks. “It is a celebration of motorsport and family, realized through uncompromising engineering and purposeful design.”
