The brand had planned on building 500,000 electric trucks annually, starting in late 2025. Instead, Ford has pushed back the production of these electric vehicles to allow them to “re-time” the electric rollout, at the same time the brand will be expanding its current hybrid offerings.
Many of the decisions from Ford can be attributed to the slowing rate of electric vehicle sales, according to officials. This comes after GM delayed production of its electric pickups in October 2023.
