FIA Denies Call to Ban Russian Drivers

The FIA is permitting racers from Russia and Belarus to continue competing in a neutral capacity under the FIA flag, according to a report from Autoweek.

The ruling is in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and ensuing calls to ban participation from Russian and Belarussian competitors.

While drivers will still be allowed to compete, the FIA suspended all competitions in Russia and Belarus until further notice. Additionally, no national teams from the countries may compete, while no national symbols, colors or flags (on uniform, equipment or cars) may be displayed.
