Detroit Speed Teams Up with Valvoline

Lubricants manufacturer Valvoline has joined Detroit Speed, a custom-vehicle builder and manufacturer of chassis and suspension components for American muscle cars, to bring Valvoline’s VR1 brand to the pro-touring aftermarket, the companies announced.

The companies have signed a two-year agreement making Valvoline the exclusive motor oil provider of Detroit Speed.

“As I developed and learned more about racing, it was important that I understood the differences in the parts and products that you use on a race car, like engine oil”, states Kyle Tucker, owner and president of Detroit Speed. “Valvoline was that trusted brand because it was what I saw in the people I looked up to.”

VR1 offers a high zinc and phosphorus formula for anti-wear protection and is engineered for use in classic and modern muscle cars, race cars and high-performance passenger cars.

Detroit Speed customers will be able to purchase select Valvoline products recommended for classic cars and trucks, and hot rods, directly from Detroit Speed on the company’s website, calling its Sales Department or by visiting the Detroit Speed hauler at select events in 2020.
