Daystar Products International, a leading designer and manufacturer of a variety of performance products for the light truck, performance automotive, Jeep, powersports and RV aftermarkets, has named Jim Chick, the veteran specialty-automotive aftermarket executive, as the new Chief Operating Officer.
As Chick looks forward to his new position at Daystar, he commented, “Joining ranks with Daystar brings my career back to my roots in Arizona where I started out riding, racing and working in the performance aftermarket. My focus is to build on Daystar’s phenomenal market performance and their excellent product and service reputation.”
Chick caught the automotive bug as an enthusiast and racer before his career in the aftermarket. He brought his off-road DNA to the enterprises that followed, with a trajectory that led him through high-level management in several iconic manufacturers including Mr. Gasket, Mickey Thompson, Trailmaster, Smittybilt, Mastercraft Safety, and most recently, Bestop.
Through it all, Chick recognized and never lost sight of what matters – the enthusiast. His dedication to the industry ranged from professional racers to distribution to industry colleagues. His service on the SEMA Board of Directors, Off-Road Business Association Board of Directors, and Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame speaks to his dedication for the specialty and off-road market and to all who share the same passion. His experience, energy and dedication will positively influence the company’s direction and success.
Mark Turner, CEO of Daystar, remarked, “Having a professional of Jim’s caliber and experience working for Daystar is crucial to maintaining the aggressive growth and expansion as new products are developed and other companies are acquired into the Daystar family.”
