A group of Chrysler concept cars are slated to appear at Lime Rock Park during the track’s Historic Festival 41 over Labor Day Weekend, track officials announced.
The event, which will also feature on-track competition including races from race groups that include MG, Sports 2000 and Formula Jr., will see 11 examples of Chrysler concept cars displayed throughout the weekend with a special fan-viewing staging along the Sam Posey Straight for Sunday in the Park: The Lime Rock Concours.
“I couldn’t be more excited about participating in this year’s Lime Rock Historic Festival,” said Ralph Gilles, Stellantis chief design officer, who will serve as the event’s Grand Marshal. “Enthusiasts will have the exclusive opportunity to see the illustrious history of Chrysler brand performance and concept cars in one location.”
Confirmed examples will include the 1960 Plymouth XNR that is equipped with the “Slant-6” engine, just one of 12 built to “NASCAR” specifications capable of 250 hp, the 1963 Chrysler Turbine Car, one of just nine left in the world and the 1995 Chrysler Atlantic that was designed by Bob Hubbach and inspired by the Bugatti Atlantique. Other confirmed concept cars attending are the 1941 Chrysler Newport, 1953 Chrysler D’Elegance, 1954 Chrysler DeSoto Adventurer II, 1957 Chrysler Diablo, 2005 Chrysler Firepower and the 2023 Chrysler 300 Special Edition, the manufacturer said.
