Cars.com has released its 2024 American Made Index. The index ranks cars based on five criteria including: assembly location, parts content, engine origin, transmission origin and U.S. manufacturing workforce. The list included over 400 models form various manufacturers.
In previous years, Tesla had been a powerhouse in the American-made top 10. This year Model 3 dropped further down the list after being named the No. 1 Most American Made car in 2021.
Only two vehicles made the original AMI expectation of over 75% American & Canadian parts: The Honda Passport and one trim level for the Model 3.
