Carlisle Wraps Up ‘Unique’ 2020 Season

When Carlisle Auctions last held a live event in February, little did anyone know it would be more than seven months between on-site auctions. Backed by industry support and a set of health and safety guidelines, Carlisle Auctions successfully hosted and executed its two-day Fall Carlisle auction at the Carlisle Expo Center, wrapping up the group’s unique 2020 season.

With assistance from the AACA Museum and Classic Auto Mall, over 400 lots of all eras or production crossed the block, including pre-war consignments, muscle cars and modern rides like the top seller, a 2018 Mercedes Benz Sprinter Midwest Automotive Design Passage Van.

The Fall Carlisle auction also included an all-truck hour. The top-selling truck of the group was a 1947 Kaiser Street Rod truck at $55,100. This truck came to Carlisle Auctions via the partnership with the AACA Museum.

In total, 63% of all consignments sold, totaling $4.4 million in sales.

Top 4 at Fall Carlisle 2020:

1) 2018 Mercedes Benz Sprinter Midwest Automotive Design Passage Van – $91,000

2) 1970 Buick GSX – $80,250

3) 1967 Nova SS – $65,000

4) 2012 Bentley Continental Flying S – $63,600

In addition to the auction, Fall Carlisle also included an automotive flea market, midway and a “car corral.” The AACA car club also participated in the event following the cancellation of the club’s annual Fall Hershey meet.

The event also served as a fundraiser for Project SHARE, a local food bank, and the United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County.
