German-based specialist in high-performance lightweight engineering, capricorn GROUP (capricorn), presented a new iteration of its capricorn 01 Zagato hypercar at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, May 15–17, on the shores of Lake Como in Italy.
The car introduced the “Tutto Rosso” specification, a one-off, bespoke, customer-commissioned interpretation of the capricorn 01 Zagato, company officials stated in a press release. The vehicle forms part of capricorn’s ongoing prototype and validation program, ahead of the start of series production later in 2026.
The capricorn 01 Zagato Tutto Rosso, which translates from Italian as “all red,” was created in response to a specific customer vision. The car is entirely devoted to Rosso, with its body, cockpit, materials and components all colored in the same rich red hue to form a coherent expression. Only selected technical components, such as the shift gate and pedals, remain in contrasting finishes where functional requirements demand it.
The capricorn 01 Zagato Tutto Rosso draws inspiration from the iconic era of Italian coach-built competition cars of the early 1930s. The period is closely associated with capricorn’s design partner, Zagato; the Italian coachbuilder’s lightweight racing philosophy; and the uncompromising visual drama of the all-red endurance machines it created, noted the release.
Historically, this approach was seen on elite Zagato-bodied competition cars of the period, including interpretations of the Alfa Romeo 6C, where monochromatic red applications amplified both the emotional intensity and the motorsport identity of the car. With the capricorn 01 Zagato Tutto Rosso, this philosophy is reinterpreted from a modern engineering and materials perspective, the company said.

They challenge us to rethink how materials, engineering and aesthetics interact at every level of the car. Engineering the Tutto Rosso Specification
Achieving the Tutto Rosso specification required a comprehensive re-evaluation of virtually every component of the capricorn 01 Zagato, officials said. With approximately 85% of the car manufactured in-house, capricorn’s engineering and production teams were able to develop bespoke solutions across the entire vehicle. This included the creation of a red-tinted carbon fiber monocoque, a highly complex process due to the structural and visual requirements of exposed composite materials.
Additional challenges arose in areas subject to extreme thermal loads, such as the exhaust system, where maintaining durability and performance required deviations from the all-red concept. These constraints underscore the comprehensive and intense engineering-led approach behind the vehicle, which balances aesthetic ambition with functional integrity.
Compared to earlier prototypes, the capricorn 01 Zagato Tutto Rosso specification introduces a fundamentally different visual character, driven by its color palette and material execution. At the same time, the company says the vehicle continues to serve as a fully functional development car, contributing to capricorn’s ongoing testing and calibration processes. Compared to the two preceding prototypes, the Tutto Rosso specification also incorporates a substantial number of additional technical developments and refinements, reflecting the continuous evolution of the capricorn 01 Zagato program toward series production.
The capricorn 01 Zagato is a mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive, manual-transmission hypercar, engineered and handbuilt in Germany to deliver a pure-analog driving experience. Production remains strictly limited to 19 coupes, with only a small number of build slots still under consideration for allocation to selected customers. Further details on technical specifications and production timing remain in line with previous announcements, the company said.
