Automotive auction platform and enthusiast community Bring a Trailer (BaT) has partnered with digital platform Caramel to launch its Verified Checkout digital transaction platform, which will securely facilitate U.S. vehicle purchase transactions entirely online.
Bring a Trailer Verified Checkout will be available at the buyer’s discretion on eligible private-party listings in all 50 U.S. states, and is included at no extra charge as part of BaT’s standard 5% buyer’s fee, according to officials.
Bring a Trailer Verified Checkout provides the following vehicle transaction services online:
- Secure transfer of payment between private parties
- Enhanced ID verification
- Location-specific paperwork for all 50 U.S. states
- Collect and remit sales tax and registration fees
- Submission of registration paperwork to the appropriate licensing office
- Handling of title transfer, including mailing the title to the new owner
BaT Shipping can also be arranged during the Verified Checkout process. In addition to the above, buyers can also apply for vehicle financing or purchase insurance or a service plan through Caramel, BaT’s Verified Checkout service partner.
“The transaction services included in Bring a Trailer Verified Checkout are often requested by the BaT community,” said Randy Nonnenberg, co-founder and president of Bring a Trailer. “We’re enthusiastic about bringing more value to our members by rolling out this brand-new service at no additional cost while making end-to-end BaT transactions even easier.
