Best in the Desert is expanding its UTV racing segment for the 2019 season.
UTV entries for Best in the Desert events have grown exponentially, as the market for these extraordinary vehicles has virtually exploded, according to the race series.
“These important changes in the Best in the Desert program for 2019 will continue to allow the UTV entry numbers to increase,” said Donald Jackson, Operations Manager for Best in the Desert.
Best in the Desert will offer a brand-new racing class next year, called PRO R1S. This class will create a place for the Single Seat UTVs to compete. The RS1 number designation will be R900.
The series is also making the UTV Rally Sportsman Class a class of its own-in 2018 they raced against the sportsman class.
“For 2019, we want them to have their own class and they will be U900,” Jackson said. “The Rally Class will have a three race series, Parker 250, UTV World Championships and Laughlin Desert Classic Night Race. There will be a Class Championship awarded for the 2019 season.”
The Sportsman UTV Class also will have its own number as well: S900. In 2018 they were 2951-2999.
Meanwhile, the Pro Unlimited UTV class is expanding numbers, and is now open to all 2900 numbers. PRO TURBO is seeing a change for 2019 as well, and will now be T800-999. All current Pro Turbo racers will be required to add a “T” to their current numbers for 2019. All current racers will keep the same number from 2018, they just need to add the T.
