According to a new report from Car & Driver, French automotive manufacturer Alpine has outlined plans to re-enter the U.S. market. The automaker previously announced it would rejoin the U.S. market in 2027.
The new announcement comes in the form of four model announcements, an electric successor to its current A110 sports car, a fully electric A310 four-door and a pair of SUV models.
Like many manufacturers, Alpine has hinted it is open to exploring alternative powertrains including electric and hydrogen models for its U.S. reentry.
Alpine has entered and exited the U.S. multiple times throughout the brand’s history, most recently the brand left the U.S. in 1987.
Alpine hopes the new models will compete with Porsche’s growing electric lineup including the 718 Cayman, Boxter and Taycan, officials noted.
