To kick-off Industry Week in Las Vegas, on Monday November 4 the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation will once again host its annual All-Industry Golf Outing. The event will take place at the Spanish Trail Country Club just prior to the AAPEX/SEMA shows with a “shotgun” start at 8:30am.
“This amazing charity event is what it is today because of the unselfish people of our industry,” said board president Lynn Parker. “People like Andy Dudash who is Chairman of our ‘volunteer’ Golf Committee and who leads the volunteer team of Jeff Helfrich, Larry Magee, Rich Scovner, Mike Wilcox and Shane Willis.”
The Industry Week golf outing is the Foundation’s single largest event of the year. Parker attributes its success to the Board of Directors and a group of generous sponsors that have supported the event and the Foundation for many years. “Some companies have sponsored since 1959 – 60 years!” said Parker. “These companies truly know the meaning of giving back to our industry, an industry that has given us so much.”
The entire committee donates time and effort to run this event, according to committee chairman Andy Dudash, who agrees that the event would not be possible without the long time support from those sponsors, “representing the best in our industry – leaders that are setting an example by donating selflessly, their time and money, paying back to an industry that has been good to all of us.”
The golf tournament ranks as one of, if not the best, and raises over $500,000. And it is still growing.
“All is done in order to help those in our industry, that have experienced a catastrophic life event, and have nowhere else to turn for help,” said Dudash.
In addition to the golf tournament, the event also includes a continental breakfast and award luncheon just prior to and after the golf outing. There’s also a pre-event reception, held Sunday evening November 3rd from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the Spanish Trail Country Club. The golf outing and event sponsorship opportunities are open to all industry participants. Proceeds help fund the foundation’s work as the only charitable organization dedicated to helping aftermarket industry workers at their most critical time of need. Non-golfers are still encouraged to consider becoming an event sponsor.
