St. Paul, Minnesota-based 3M has been recognized as one of 2018’s World’s Most Ethical Companies, according to the Scottsdale, Arizona-based Ethisphere Institute, which defines and measures corporate ethical standards and recognizes companies that excel in practicing them.
This is the fifth straight year 3M has received the recognition. According to the institute, 3M is one of only a handful of industrial companies worldwide to be recognized this year.
“Our company maintains an unwavering commitment to ethics and I am very proud of this acknowledgement from Ethisphere,” said Veena Lakkundi, 3M’s vice president and chief compliance officer. “At 3M, we achieve this when all of us at the company strive to live the 3M Code of Conduct. Our 91,000 employees have collectively won this award.”
Ethisphere evaluates companies in five categories: ethics and compliance program; citizenship and corporate responsibility; culture of ethics, governance, and leadership; innovation; and reputation. 3M is one of only 135 companies around the world that were designated as a World’s Most Ethical Company.
