Powertrain Options
The rugged 2027 Ram Chassis Cab line is available in gasoline- and diesel-powered options to suit and project:
The 6.4L Hemi V-8 delivers 375 hp and 429 pound-feet of torque paired to either a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission with electronic column shifter standard on 3500, or a TorqueFlite HD 8-speed automatic transmission available on 3500 and standard on 4500/5500
Meanwhile, the 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6 engine is rated at 360 hp and 800 pound-feet of torque, paired to a TorqueFlite HD 8-speed automatic transmission with electronic column shifter. The diesel pairs robust heavy-duty pistons and a revised turbo with a performance intake manifold, larger intake and exhaust valves and a higher-pressure fuel system for even greater durability and efficiency.
Serviceability is enhanced through a top-load lubrication system and integrated fuel filtration designed to simplify routine maintenance, and glow plug-assisted cold-start technology supports reliable ignition and operation in low-temperature environments.
