*THE SHOP and its sister publication, Sign & Digital Graphics, teamed up for exclusive wraps coverage in our upcoming July issue. Be sure to check it out!
Melbourne, Florida’s Florida Vehicle Wraps was involved in a special project this past month. The shop, which turns 1 year old in July, participated in an autism awareness campaign sponsored by a local school that caters to autistic children and their families.
The Puzzle Box Academy was founded in 2014 in Melbourne to serve children with autism and other developmental delays. In order to raise the public’s awareness surrounding autism and related disorders, which affect one in 59 children, the school held a contest featuring the police departments of Cocoa, Indian Harbour, Palm Bay and West Melbourne, all located with Brevard County.
The school sponsored wraps on police vehicles in each of the four agencies. According to Florida Vehicle Wraps owner Anthony Timmerman, the officers who drove each vehicle did the actual designs themselves, and then his shop installed the wraps. An online contest was then posted on social media so the public could vote on their favorite wrap. The vote was taking place June 1, so as of this writing a winner has yet to be announced. Timmerman said it was a real honor to take part in something so meaningful.
