Velocity Modern Classics Adds Mustang Fastback to Signature Series

Velocity Modern Classics has added the Velocity Mustang Fastback as its newest offering in its Signature Series line, the restoration company announced.

The 1967-68 Ford Mustang Fastback has been restored with modern components found in late-model Mustangs. Features on the Velocity Mustang include a 5.0L Coyote V8 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission, a Roadster Shop chassis, and other modern features, like Vintage Air climate control and a RetroSound Bluetooth stereo. To further personalize the Mustang, Velocity offers a variety of paint and trim options, as well as other optional upgrades.

Under the hood, the Velocity Signature Series Mustang is powered by a Gen III Coyote 5.0 engine delivering 460 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. Power is transferred to the wheels via a 10R80 automatic transmission or a T-56 six-speed manual transmission for those who want additional control. The Velocity Mustang Fastback has been optimized for performance with a proprietary serpentine system and custom headers, while a custom stainless exhaust with Borla mufflers provides an aggressive tone, Velocity builders said.

The Mustang rides on a brand-new Roadster Shop Mustang SPEC chassis and is accompanied by rack-and-pinion power steering, front sway bars and SPEC independent front suspension, as well as a four-link rear suspension with front and rear adjustable Fox coilovers and a Ford 9-inch rear axle with a 3.73 gear ratio, the company said. Additionally, 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels wrapped in 255/45 ZR17 Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 tires provide grip. Baer four-piston calipers with 11-inch rotors and a Bosch Electric iBooster provide stopping power.

The exterior of the Velocity Signature Series Mustang Fastback is clad in custom BASF Glasurit paint colors and is available with optional painted racing stripes, while a vented hood with marker lights helps to keep engine temps down. Chrome accessories, a color-matched painted firewall and chrome bumpers elevate accompany Truck-Lite LED headlights and sequential LED taillights. All-new glass and weather seals and billet hood hinges by Ringbrothers round out the exterior features.

Inside the Fastback, Procar front bucket seats provide comfort and support, while a fixed rear bench seat allows extra space, the company said. Heated and ventilated seats, along with a premium leather option, are available. Other appointments include Alcantara headliner, molded carpet with Velocity floor mats and wrapped door panels, while Dynamat sound deadening keeps road noise out. Climate control comes courtesy of the Vintage Air air-conditioning system. A RetroSound head unit is paired with four Focal speakers and a subwoofer. Optional billet interior and exterior packages are available. A wood steering wheel, IDIDIT tilt steering column and Dakota Digital gauges and brushed metal and chrome interior components complete the cabin details.

Velocity also offers a more premium performance trim in the Street Series with upgrades such as a carbon-fiber driveshaft, two-way adjustable Fox coilovers and larger 18-inch Forgeline wheels. The exterior of the Street Series comes standard with painted racing stripes, a paint-matched engine bay and the Velocity Billet Exterior Package. Inside, Velocity provides a custom leather interior and Recaro front bucket seats. The interior also includes a new Sparc Industries billet steering wheel, billet door handles, window cranks, window pulls and dash knobs. Lastly, the Mustang is equipped with an upgraded double-din head unit with Apple CarPlay, a premium Focal sound system and a backup camera for additional safety.

“The Velocity Signature Series Mustang is a project that we’ve been really excited about,” said Velocity CEO Jeremy Hans. “Our team has poured countless hours into developing, designing and engineering every detail of this vehicle to ensure it lives up to the long legacy of the Ford Mustang. We set out to capture the timeless essence of the original while providing the performance and safety of a modern vehicle. We definitely accomplished that with our latest creation.”
