The HitchMount LED Pod from Diode Dynamics is a compact, high-output solution for significantly improving reverse visibility. Designed to integrate with the vehicle’s OEM trailer wiring, it adds a 1,000-lumen white reverse light, along with optional red functions for running and braking—all through the trailer hitch, with no cutting or wiring required. Whether reversing in tight spaces or low-light conditions, HitchMount offers a practical, easy-to-install, high-output lighting upgrade manufactured in the USA!

Powerful Reverse Lighting, Plus Rear Visibility Functions

Available in two versions—the SSC1 and C1R—HitchMount combines multiple rear-lighting functions in one sealed housing. Both models deliver the same high-output reverse lighting through Diode Dynamics’ proprietary optics, along with a red running light function. The C1R adds a fourth brake light function, plus SafetyStrobe: a rapid pulse of the brake light to help grab attention under braking.

Because the system operates via the vehicle’s 7-pin trailer wiring harness, reverse and brake light functions activate automatically—no switches or manual controls required.

Compatibility with 2-Inch and 2.5-Inch Receivers

The HitchMount LED Pod system is compatible with both 2-inch and 2.5-inch trailer hitch receivers, thanks to a custom-molded adapter sleeve included with every kit. That means it’s ready to install on a wide range of vehicles, including full-size pickups with Class 5 hitches.

Simple, Clean Installation

Installation takes just minutes. HitchMount slides into the trailer hitch and connects directly to the vehicle using a plug-and-play in-line harness that fits between the OEM 7-pin trailer plug and socket. There’s no hardwiring, splicing, or additional switches—just unplug the trailer connection, insert the HitchMount harness, and plug it back in.

A snap-fit retention system locks the pod in place. For those who want added theft resistance, the retention tabs can be clipped to allow use of a standard locking hitch pin. When it’s time to tow, the pod removes easily using built-in release tabs, and a weatherproof DT connector cap is included to protect the plug while disconnected.

HitchMount is made in the USA with globally sourced components at Diode Dynamics’ production facility in St.Louis, Missouri. It features IP69-rated waterproofing and automotive-grade materials throughout, built to withstand continuous use, road salt, and the demands of commercial applications.
