Photo Gallery: Monterey Car Week

This year’s Monterey Car Week was full of many new vehicle announcements. From restomods to special one-offs, there was a varied collection of cars around the show offering internal combustion, electric, hybrid and even hydrogen propulsion systems. Honda also debuted its restored HP-X concept, alongside a collection of other wedge-shaped cars at Pebble Beach.

Pininfarina Battista Targamerica – The Italian coachbuilder has mounted four independent electric motors at each wheel, offering 1,877hp in a 150kWh battery pack. The Targamerica is the first open-topped offering from the brand.

BMW M5 Touring – The BMW M5 touring was announced early in the week, learn more about this third-generation BMW M5 Wagon here.

Cadillac Opulent Velocity – Cadillac’s Opulent Velocity Concept is intended to help the brand usher in Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities thanks to wide-screen displays and Augmented Reality Head-Up Displays.

Hyperion XP-1 – Hyperion’s Electric/Hydrogen powered hypercar will be designed and built in California and offers over 2,000 horsepower. Draws for the hydrogen hypercar include a 1000 mile range and a 3-5 minute recharge time from empty.

Kalmar 9X9 – Kelmar has announced their new ‘Retro Hypercar’ designed to pick and choose the best elements of Porsche 911 and 959 design to offer the ultimate Porsche package in three different trim levels including: the 9X9, the 9×9 Sport and the ‘Leichtbau’.

Lamborghini Temario – The new Lamborghini had been known internally as the 634, and utilizes a hybrid V8 4.0L engine with three electric motors offering over 908 horsepower. The new Temario will replace the outgoing Huracán.

Maserati GT2 – The new sportscar from Maserati has been built to meet the GT2 racing formula and will be offered as a road-legal racer. The twin-turbo 3.0L V6 utilizes a pre-ignition chamber thanks to dual spark plugs derived from F1 designs.

Porsche 993 Speedster – Of all the generations of 911, Porsche never built an official 993 Speedster. The newly revealed model was commissioned by an Italian collector under Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program. It becomes just the third 993 speedster, the other two examples were built for a member of the Porsche family and noted Porsche collector, Jerry Seinfeld.

Rimac Nevera R – The Nevera R is the first Rimac model to utilize the brand’s bespoke 108kWh battery pack and offers over 2,000 horsepower. The new model offers over 200 more horsepower than the previous Nevera. The brand expects range to be around 250 miles on a full charge.

RR Phantom Scintilla – This special edition Phantom features Andalusian White with Thracian Blue paintwork, a special ceramic Spirit of Ecstasy and a unique interior featuring over 869,500 stitches to create a flowing interior look. The car is limited to just 10 units worldwide.

RUF Rodeo – RUF releases their take on the Porsche 911 Dakar with the Rodeo. The new model features a full carbon monocoque chassis, six-speed manual transmission, a flat six twin-turbo engine and a full leather interior including a leather wrapped roll cage.

Tuthill Porsche GT1 – Rounding out the Porsche 911 variants, English Porsche builder Tuthill has reveled their 911 built to the FIA’s GT1 racing specifications. T new model is offered in both naturally aspirated or turbocharged flat six formats, with a full carbon fiber body weighing just over 2,600lbs. Production is limited to 22 cars.

Veloce12 – Carrozzeria Touring Superlegerra has announced a Ferrari 550 Restomod intended to bring the iconic V12 into the modern world. The 503 horsepower V12 six-speed will be limited to just 300 units worldwide.
