According to a new report from Yahoo, McLaren has revealed its newest hypercar, the W1. The new model is intended to be the follow-up model to the hybrid P1 and legendary F1 models of the 2010s, and the late ’90s respectively.
The new W1 builds upon the P1 model’s hybrid systems with its own hybrid powertrain utilizing a 4.0L V8 and an electric motor helping to push the full output to 1,258 horsepower and 988 pound feet of torque. The MHP-8 engine utilizes a flat-plane crank design that spins up to 9,200 rpm.
In total the new model weighs just over 3000lbs. and offers Formula 1 style aerodynamics including a unique active rear wing design.
The full production run of the W1 is expected to be just 399 units worldwide with a starting price of $2.1 million, and the new model is already sold out according to Yahoo.
