KPI – November 2025: Recent Vehicle Recalls

2020-24 Hyundai & Kia Sedans

Vehicles Affected: Hyundai and Kia are recalling more than 85,000 and 250,500 sedans, including model-year 2020-23 Sonatas and 2021-24 K5s.

The Problem: According to the automaker, the check valve may be damaged and allow air into the fuel tank. This can cause the tank to expand and contact hot exhaust components, which could eventually melt the tank and increase the risk of fire or injury.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the check valve, as well as inspect and replace the fuel tank. In addition, Hyundai dealers will inspect and update the engine control unit software. Both brands will notify owners Jan. 16, 2026.

2025-26 Ford Broncos & Bronco Sports

Vehicles Affected: Ford is recalling more than 229,600 model-year 2025-26 Broncos and Bronco Sports.

The Problem: According to the automaker, the instrument panel cluster may fail at startup, preventing drivers from viewing critical safety information, such as the vehicle’s speed and warning lights.

The Fix: A dealer will provide an instrument panel cluster software update or an over-the-air update as necessary and for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 8.

2020-24 Ford Escapes & Corsair PHEVs

Vehicles Affected: Ford is recalling approximately 20,500 model-year 2020-24 Escape PHEVs and model-year 2021-24 Corsair PHEVs.

The Problem: According to the automaker, a manufacturing defect in one or more of the high-voltage battery cells may result in a short circuit and cause the battery to fail.

The Fix: A remedy is currently under development. At this time, owners are advised to only use Auto EV mode and will be instructed via mail to limit the maximum battery charge. Letters notifying owners will be mailed Dec. 1.

2023-25 Jeep Grand Cherokee & Wrangler 4exes

Vehicles Affected: Stellantis is recalling more than 112,000 model-year 2023-25 Grand Cherokee 4xes and model-year 2024-25 Wrangler 4xes.

The Problem: According to the automaker, debris in the engine may cause the engine to fail, thereby resulting in a loss of motive power or an engine compartment fire.

The Fix: A remedy for the issue is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 29.

2022-24 Toyota Tundras & Lexus SUVs

Vehicles Affected: Toyota is recalling approximately 127,000 vehicles, including model-year 2022-24 Tundra pickup trucks and model-year 2022-24 Lexus LX SUVs and 2024 GX SUVs.

The Problem: According to the automaker, machining debris from production may not have been completely removed from the engine and can cause engine knocking, rough running, failure to start or a loss of motive power.

The Fix: Toyota does not have a remedy at this time, but will notify owners by early January 2026.
