2014-2017 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia SUVs
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 995,000 GM vehicles are being recalled, including model-year 2014-2017 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia SUVs.
The Problem: The driver’s side airbag inflator suffered a manufacturing defect and may rupture upon deployment, causing metal fragments to enter the cabin.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the driver’s airbag module for free. GM will begin notifying owners on June 26.
2023 Kia Niro, Niro PHEV, Soul, Sportage, Sportage Hybrid, Sportage PHEV and Telluride SUVs
Vehicles Affected: Kia is recalling 109,000 vehicles, including model-year 2023 Niro, Niro PHEV, Soul, Sportage, Sportage Hybrid, Sportage PHEV and Telluride SUVs equipped with a digital instrument cluster containing a 4.2-inch screen.
The Problem: The automaker points to an issue involving the instrument cluster software, along with voltage instability upon starting the vehicle. In addition to causing potential booting errors, a malfunctioning instrument cluster screen may remain blank and prevent a driver from viewing important information altogether (such as tire pressure and warning messages and lights).
The Fix: Dealers will update the instrument cluster software for free. Owner notification letters will be sent May 26.
2021 Ram 1500
Vehicles Affected: Parent company Stellantis is recalling approximately 132,000 model-year 2021 Ram 1500s equipped with the 5.7-liter eTorque mild-hybrid V-8 engine.
The Problem: The automaker says powertrain control module software may cause the fuel mixture condition in the engine to be overly rich, interfering with proper engine function and potentially increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will update the software for free. Owner notification letters will be sent June 2.
2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator and Ram 1500
Vehicles Affected: Parent company Stellantis is recalling 45,000 vehicles, including model-year 2021-2023 Gladiators and Wranglers, plus model-year 2022-2023 Ram 1500s equipped with 3.0-liter diesel V-6 engines.
The Problem: The high-pressure fuel pump failure may introduce internal debris into the fuel system and potentially cause fuel starvation. This can result in a loss of drive power and increase the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the pump and other fuel system components for free, as necessary.
2007-2011 Honda CR-Vs
Vehicles Affected: In March, Honda recalled 330,000 vehicles. Now, the automaker prepares for 563,700 more. Affected vehicles include model-year 2007-2011 CR-Vs sold or registered in areas which experience extreme winter weather conditions, including Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Wisconsin.
The Problem: The automaker says driving through puddles or flooded areas at speed can cause an accumulation of salt, mud and/or water in the rear frame. As such, potential corrosion inside the frame can result in the trailing arm falling off while the SUV is in motion, thereby causing a driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect and install a support brace or repair the rear frame for free, as necessary. Honda says if the damage is beyond repair, it may repurchase the vehicle. Owners will be notified starting May 8.
