2020-2024 Kia Telluride

Vehicles Affected: Kia is recalling more than 462,800 model-year 2020-2024 Telluride SUVs.

The Problem: According to the automaker, a slide knob or power-seat back cover may become stuck or dislodged. If this happens, the motor associated with the front power seat could continue operating and overheat, possibly resulting in a fire. Kia says warning signs include the seat slide knob sticking, a burning smell or smoke from underneath the seat. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the repair is complete.

The Fix: Dealers will install a bracket for the power-seat switch back covers and replace the seat slide knobs for free. Kia will notify owners on July 30th.
