Classic Recreations Adds Mustang Boss 302 to Lineup

Classic Recreations, the Oklahoma-based builder of officially-licensed Ford and Shelby American continuation cars and restorations, has debuted its latest achievement – an officially-licensed 1969 Ford Boss 302 Mustang. As the most recent project to emerge from Classic Recreations all-in-house facility, the 1969-1970 Mustang Boss 302 follows the company’s previous build, the 1969-1970 Mach 1. Through its exclusive licensing deal with Ford Motor Company, Classic Recreations now offers three Mustangs: Boss 429, Boss 302 and Mach 1.

The Classic Recreations Boss 302 build process begins with a genuine 1969 Mustang body. Classic Recreations’ team restores the sheet metal to factory-fresh condition before fully reimagining the Boss with a host of high-performance upgrades. Two engine options are available: a modern Coyote Gen 3 5.0L crate engine that produces 490 horsepower after tuning, or a race-inspired 363-cubic-inch Ford Performance Boss crate engine that produces 507 horsepower. The Boss 302 features Holley fuel Injection, a Vaporworx fuel pump and a BeCool aluminum crossflow radiator with two electric cooling fans. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec manual transmission and a 9-inch rear differential with Posi-Traction. Exhaust gasses flow through a stainless steel MagnaFlow performance exhaust with dual mufflers.

Built to be as exciting in the corners as it is in a straight line, the Classic Recreations Boss 302 replaces factory coil- and leaf-spring suspension with a sophisticated adjustable coilover package. Handling is refined with rack and pinion steering, tubular upper and lower control arms, oversized sway bars and 4-link rear suspension, while tubular subframe connectors add rigidity. Keeping this Mustang firmly planted on the road are Michelin high-performance Z-rated tires (225/40/17 front, 275/45/17 rear) mounted on American Racing Magnum 500 wheels. Mounted at all four corners are four-piston Wilwood calipers squeezing 12-inch rotors.

From the driver’s seat, the Classic Recreations Boss 302 inspires confidence with a leather-wrapped aluminum steering wheel and TMI highback seats with five-point camlock seat belts. An Old Air Products climate control system keeps occupants comfortable, and Boss 302 gauges and carbon fiber detailing update the interior while maintaining that old-school muscle car feel.

Classic Recreations finished the first Boss 302 in a two-tone grey and black color scheme. The instantly recognizable Boss side and hood stripe graphics are applied over a deep metallic grey, accentuating the lines of Classic Recreations’ immaculate bodywork. The Boss 302 is available in a full palette of iconic Ford paint colors or a custom paint scheme. For added aggression, styling elements like a front chin valence and rear-deck spoiler are borrowed from the Boss 429, setting this Mustang apart from the rest.

Positioned as a piece of muscle car history that balances both past and present, the Mustang Boss 302 by Classic Recreations is an icon retooled for today’s enthusiast. Custom-built to be as unique as its owner, a Classic Recreations Boss 302 can leave the shop as a period-correct recreation or as a resto-mod inspired by the original car. The final product is fully dependent on the customer’s vision, guided by the experts at Classic Recreations.
