CD-7 Shines with Features, Visibility
As the driver’s interface to real-time information about engine performance, it’s difficult to overstate the importance of the dashboard.
With the debut of its fully programmable CD-7 digital dashboard, AEM provides a lens into engine performance that ensures drivers have the information they need, when they need it.
The dashboard’s 7-inch color display features a bright, highcontrast screen with an integrated glare diffuser and shade hood, meaning visibility whether you’re racing along the reflective strips of the Bonneville Salt Flats in midday sunlight or the local black top under starlight. The company has made a point of emphasizing it’s readable in direct sunlight.
Seven user-programmable pages ensure that drivers have the data they need in a customizable presentation. Alarm settings are virtually limitless, and a dedicated alarm page is included to ensure it gets your attention should an alarm trigger. An On-Change page is also included and can be programmed to momentarily display information should the user change boost levels, traction settings, etc.
With the AEM Dash Design software, fully programmable does not mean complicated. The complimentary software gives end-users or installers full control of configurations and graphics, providing pre-made templates for simple modifications or full back-end access to customize graphics and information display.
Seven ultra-bright LEDs span the top of the display housing for RPM and shift light indication. Users can program them to ascend in specific increments based on RPM range, and flash when it is time to shift. Brightness is user programmable on the fixed color LEDs.
The CD-7 model accepts channels from two separate userprogrammable CAN bus connections and can receive and collect data from AEMnet-enabled devices, such as the Infinity ECU, Series 2 EMS or EMS-4, as well as more than 100 third-party devices, including PDM’s, CAN sensor modules and programmable engine management systems.
Two large buttons are included on the face of the display, allowing easy page changing and memory resetting even with driving gloves on. These button functions are also duplicated on the rear connector allowing the user to mount remote buttons on the steering wheel if desired. Two additional programmable LEDs are located above the toggle buttons on the sides of the housing.
CD-7 packages include logging and non-logging displays with or without an optional vehicle dynamics module.
