Prefix Corp. now offers a pair of solutions for vehicle projects needing power in user-friendly packages. The company now provides drop-in power and performance with HEMI crate engines, created with plug-n-play convenience. The performance division of Michigan-based Prefix Corp. (formerly Arrow Racing Engines) has years of experience with HEMI power and now offers both 392 and 426 crate engines.

These performance engines are not the typical off-the-line crate engine. The low volume specialty built engines are produced by a team of performance professionals with decades of experience with the Mopar powerplant. Each Prefix engine comes with a dyno-tuned calibration and includes front accessory drive with alternator, power steering pump and AC compressor, and are built using all forged internal components.

“We’re really excited to offer these, because they are true Plug-N-Play engines,” said Rick Talbot, Prefix production manager. “Each is built with a Holley HP system and they are extremely user friendly, whether installing them into a vintage car, hot rod, muscle car, or new model vehicle.”

The engine and performance division within Prefix provides experienced engine design, engineering, development, and testing for OEMs, race teams, special industry projects, and performance enthusiasts.

Prefix is currently taking orders for the turn-key engines. The 392 engine is selling for $16,995 and providing 580 horsepower and 490 ft-lbs of torque at 6,500 rpm. The 426 sells for $19,995 and provides 615 horsepower and 520 ft-lbs of torque at 6,500 rpm, according to Prefix.

“The goal was to provide car and truck enthusiasts with an option to buy a ready to run engine, and eliminate the endless search and add-on expenses for all the little parts and components necessary to get most crate motors operating,” Talbot said.

Prefix is typically known as the company that industry manufacturers partner with, to bring their new innovations to reality. Utilizing a wide-ranging list of capabilities, four impressive facilities, and 250 team members, Prefix creates the most technologically advanced concept vehicles and prototypes in the industry. From complete vehicle concepts, luxury aviation mockups, electric and autonomous technologies, and even high performance off-road race vehicles.
