Zytek Motorsport has entered into partnership with Nissan Motorsports International (NISMO) to provide engines for the LMP2 class beginning in 2011.
The normally aspirated 4.5-liter V-8 Nissan VK45DE has already seen a huge amount of success in Japan, powering the Nissan GT-R in the Super GT series and taking the championship in 2008, according to a press release.
“Zytek Motorsport is delighted to enter into this partnership with Nissan Motorsports International,” said John Manchester, Zytek Motorsport operations director. “We firmly believe that this collaboration between these two excellent brands is going to produce competitive and reliable products. It is an honour to work with a manufacturer of the standing and reputation of Nismo and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
Zytek Motorsport will be responsible to servicing and maintaining the engines. The Nismo LMP2 engine can be installed in all new and current LMP2 chassis, according to the release.
