Chattanooga, Tenn.-based The Coker Group recently opened its new 100,000 square-foot West Coast distribution and wheel manufacturing center in Industry, Calif.

The new facility will serve as a steel and wire wheel manufacturing plant, tire warehouse and distribution center, allowing the company to easily assemble and ship products to consumers worldwide, according to The Coker Group.

“While so many companies in the automotive aftermarket seem to be leaving California, we at Coker Group intentionally chose California with its huge automobile culture, availability of skilled workforce, not to mention year-round convertible weather,” said Corky Coker, owner of The Coker Group. “We now employ more than 40 California residents who produce steel and wire wheels and ship our collector tires and wheels from our new Los Angeles-area facility.”

The Coker Tire facility also includes a small collection of vintage cars, motorcycles and assorted automobilia that is open to the public. The Coker Group plans to offers visitor tours of the museum and guided tours of the wheel production facility in the future.

The Industry facility’s grand opening event was attended by Mayor Tim Spohn, U.S. Congressman John Campbell and representatives from the offices of other elected California government officials.
