VDO Instruments will present a free educational seminar on instrumentation at the Hotrod & Restoration and Restyling & Truck Accessories Trade Shows in March.
Matthew Lacko, product manager at Continental Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket, manufacturer and supplier of VDO OE-engineered Instrumentation and Replacement Parts for the custom vehicle market, will cover how to wire gauges properly, offer troubleshooting tips and give advice on purchasing gauges during the one-hour program.
“It’s not as easy as a lot of people make it seem when it comes to buying a gauge and sender,” said Lacko, who taught the seminar last year at the trade show. “There are actually a lot of different things to consider. We want to make the buying process a lot easier for people.”
About 25 people were present at the VDO seminar at the 2013 show, and Lacko expects even more professionals will attend next year’s presentation.
“We really like to offer the troubleshooting stuff as our standard presentation, because it generally helps a lot of people out,” Lacko said. “But next year, we’ll be covering a lot of newer, innovative products that will be coming out around that time.”
In addition to new VDO products, the company plans to exhibit gauges that are cut away to show seminar attendees the mechanical interior of the device; show off new technology videos that the company plans to debut in the coming months; and highlight a new smartphone app, according to Lacko.
