The University of the Aftermarket will present its “Aftermarket 101” program May 29-30 at Federal-Mogul headquarters in Southfield, Mich.
Open to new employees in the automotive or heavy-duty aftermarket and led by industry professionals from key market segments, the annual program is designed to provide a better understanding of the aftermarket, its structure and trends.
“Aftermarket 101 is an outstanding opportunity for new aftermarket professionals to get a solid background and thorough understanding of the industry,” said Brian Cruickshank, University of the Aftermarket director. “Participants will learn from recognized industry experts, each with an average of 25 years of real-world aftermarket experience.”
The day-and-a-half program will expose attendees to key information about the aftermarket, its history, scope, market channels, customers and trends.
The “Aftermarket Overview” will include specific topics such as industry basics, channels and terminology; the aftermarket and the North American economy; distribution structure and trends; and macro trends. A field trip to a WD and technician panel will also be included, according to a University of the Aftermarket course description.
