Ford Motor Co. is heading to Wichita, Kansas, for the Sixth Annual BlackTop Nationals, with an extensive lineup of cars and trucks, including the Ford GT supercar and Shelby GT350.
The BlackTop Nationals, Aug. 21-23, features hot laps, ride-and-drives and rare automotive displays. The event supports local charities such as Kansas Honor Flight and the Automotive Restoration Technology Program at McPherson College.
“Over the last six years, BlackTop Nationals has become one of the premier Midwestern grassroots enthusiast events for Ford Motor Co.,” said Steve Ling, Ford North America car marketing manager. “BlackTop Nationals is a great venue because it combines family fun and automotive excitement that allows us to connect with our fans on a personal level. This year, we have a number of activities and displays that will deliver the ultimate Ford experience.”
Attractions include the new Ford GT supercar, as well as the all-new Shelby GT350. Both will be included in a special display where fans can get an up-close look at these performance-packed cars.
In addition to the latest performance models, Ford also will showcase its complete 2015 vehicle lineup at Century II Convention and Performing Arts Center. Here, fans can experience the Ford lineup through hot lap experiences and Ford-sponsored ride-and-drives.
“We’re looking forward to showing the Ford GT and Shelby GT350 for the first time in Kansas at BlackTop Nationals,” said Paul Brearey, Ford marketing manager for enthusiast events. “Both of these iconic performance vehicles are immediately recognizable and strike a chord with Ford fans and general automotive enthusiasts alike. We anticipate a great turnout this year and are thrilled to show fans what Ford Performance looks like.”
